Produced by and in collaboration with One Ram Media, I designed, animated and edited a series of promotional videos leading up to the annual NHLCA Coaches’ Clinic.

The Challenge
The primary purpose of the videos were to generate excitement and drive awareness around the annual event. The timeline was tight and the assets were limited due to keeping the focus on the coaches and not players.
A rough concept to convey my idea. The client loved it and we ended up moving forward with this direction.
My Role
Concept exploration:
Since there was a lack of coach imagery available I decided to try and incorporate player footage. This would help keep the videos interesting and dynamic.
I explored ways to differentiate each video by integrating team colours.
Using different music and sound bites for each video would also help them stand apart.
After client approval I began to gather assets and establish the final look. Assets included:
images of the coaches,
player footage,
team colours,
music tracks and sounds effects.
I helped prep assets prior to compositing (rotoscoping, selecting player footage, etc.).
Animated and composited graphics then edited them together and did sound design and mixing.
The NHLCA logo was animated in a style that would match the look and feel of the videos. This helped make the videos more cohesive.
A work in progress. I created different backgrounds for each coach based on their team's colours. This helped distinguish the individual promos.A looping gif of the logo animation I did.
